05.14.21 Excited to share Turning of the Day, an EP-length new work out on LINE Imprint on May 14, 2021. Beautiful cover image by my friend Ginny Cook, a wonderful artist, mother, and human. Available now.

Turning of the Day, LINE_118

…”Skeen encourages listeners to listen “in full, but at half-attention” – but we can’t help getting engrossed. What ‘Turning of the Day’ lacks in volume, it makes up for in texture. Imagine a 1980s private-press industrial noise tape dialed back from 11 to 1.”—Boomkat

.

05.09.21 You can now listen online to “You Can’t Hide From the Desert Wind,” a piece for Black Mountain Radio by poet Vi Khi Nao, produced by Rachel James, and scored by me. Nao guides listeners through a meditative sound walk along the Las Vegas Strip, where, according to Vi, the ghost of the diurnal self meets the ghost of nocturnal life. The piece originally aired on KWNK 97.7 FM.

.

04.02.21 New track out now for the Touch: Displacing subscription series. ‘The Clap of the Fading-out Sound of Your Shoes’ is a piece composed of recordings throughout a city on pause, though not silent, during the early months of 2021. Roughly hewn around the edges, the track acts as a concrete mixer for the industrial materials of Los Angeles and the composer’s resonating, listening body within it.
